Timelines for building a custom home vary depending on the size and scope of the project—not to mention if there are any major changes needed mid-project. However, you can generally plan on your home taking 6-8 months to build.
Many builders start by having you select from one of several pre-made floor plans. They build nice homes, to be sure, but they aren't fully customizable based on your family's needs and stylistic preferences.
